The new parachute system for the Airborne Forces successfully passed the first stage of state tests
Discharges of the new parachute system for armored vehicles (BTR) and airborne combat vehicles (BMD) “Bahcha-U-PDS” at the first stage of state testing were successful. This was reported in the press service of the holding “Technodynamics” of the state corporation “Rostec”.
“The discharges of airborne assault vehicles with the new Bahcha-U-PDS parachute system were successful. They were carried out as part of the stage of finalizing state joint tests at the V.P. Chkalov State Flight Test Center (Akhtubinsk). In total, since November 2015 11 BMD dumps and one armored personnel carrier dump with holding parachute landing systems were held, “the press service said.
As explained by the head of Technodynamics Maxim Kuzyuk, the state joint tests of Bahchi-U-PDS will last until the end of 2016.
“The discharge program as part of the BMD at the finalization stage has already been completed, and according to its results we can say that our equipment worked without failures, proving its reliability and high efficiency,” said Kuzyuk. According to him, now some adjustments will be made to the working design documentation.
“In addition, as part of the refinement phase, three more out of five discharges in the BTR should be completed. We expect to start mass deliveries of Bahchi-U-PDS already in 2017, ”he added.
The new system, developed by Universal, a member of Technodinamika, is designed to deliver land-based combat vehicles with crews landed from Il-76 aircraft and their modifications.
