The choice of starting equipment for parachuting

If you firmly decided to master parachuting, then you probably already managed to appreciate its fascination and unique feeling of flying. Learning all the intricacies of this sport is not easy, but your reward will be indescribable feelings, self-confidence and the opportunity to truly feel the flight. However, there are some difficult questions in this sporting direction that sooner or later one of the most common ones will face any newcomer – the question of choosing your own equipment. When should a novice athlete think about acquiring his own parachute? Perhaps it is better to wait at least until you have enough experience and can no longer “limit” yourself to the equipment used for training? Can a parachute be modified for a beginner? Where can I order it on an individual project?
Experts believe that, as a rule, it is better if a novice athlete uses a “starting” parachute with a DZ mechanism until he or she moves from a larger “student” outfit to a smaller one, since the starting parachutes are sized for the main training objectives. The same rules apply here as in any other sport. For example, if you are skiing, you know that it makes sense to rent smaller skis until you have the ability to handle larger ones. It also makes sense to learn with rental equipment, rather than with new material, because beginners tend to wear more equipment than more experienced jumpers. Do not buy equipment until you complete the basic course. In addition, when calculating the training budget, it is better to spend money on jumping than on equipment so that you can gain experience as quickly as possible.
